👋🏻 Hello! I’m Ewan Carmichael, a policy, partnerships, and comms specialist & public appointee based in Glasgow.
I lead work across sectors driving inclusive, people-centred change.

I’m the Policy & External Relations Manager at Quarriers, one of Scotland’s largest health and social care charities, where I combine strategic communications and policy influence to champion the voices of the over 5,000 people we support across more than 100 services.
In December 2025, I was appointed by the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills to the inaugural Board of Qualifications Scotland, the national body for accreditation and qualifications, to replace the SQA. I also co-convene the organisation’s statutory Learner Interest Committee.
Beyond these roles, I am an experienced charity non-executive, currently serving as the current Vice-Chair of the Board at Alcohol Focus Scotland and as a Board Director and Trustee of Iriss (the Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services).
As an autistic person with ADHD, I’m passionate about using my lived experience to inform inclusive change across policy, practice, and leadership.
